Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hesham Ramez said that paying back a Qatari deposit of two billion dollars to Qatar is due to changing terms of agreement by the Qatari side.
In a TV interview, Ramez noted that the Central Bank of Egypt is not and will never be part of any political action, adding that Egypt respects agreements. He added that Egypt has gone through worse conditions and overcame them.
Ramez added that Egypt will not depend on aid except temporarily as Egypt's reserve of foreign currency hit now 18.9 billion dollars. He added that a Kuwaiti deposit of two billion dollars will be placed with the Bank within days.
