Tanzania: Grenade Attack Foiled in Zanzibar Commercial Area

Unknown assailants threw a grenade near a commercial area along Darajani Street in Zanzibar early Monday morning (September 23rd), security officials told Sabahi.

Zanzibar Urban West regional Assistant Commissioner of Police Mkadam Khamis Mkadam said a private guard, Amour Kassim Amour, 36, who was on duty at Sahara Store, saw a number of people in a pickup truck coming towards the shop he was guarding when one of them threw the grenade in his direction.
