Angola: Chiyaka King Benjamim Sousa Dies

The King of Chiyaka, Benjamim Soma, died this Tuesday at the age of 85, victim of disease.

Benjamim Soma, who was enthroned in 2001, in replacement of Salomão Monengo, had been physically weakened for two years.

The Kingdom of Chiyaca, commune of Chinjenje municipality, covers the municipalities of Ucuma, Longonjo (Huambo), Ganda, Cubal, Caimbambo (Benguela), Celes (Kwanza Sul), Caluquembe, Caconda and Chongoroi (Huíla).

King Benjamim Soma's remains will be buried on Wednesday, according to the local tradition.

Chiyaca Kindom has already enthroned 42 kings.
