Tanga — PRIME Minister Mizengo Pinda is expected to grace the Northern Zone investment forum to be held in the city of Tanga for two days starting on Thursday.
According to the programme released here by Tanga Regional Commissioner Chiku Gallawa, the PM is expected to arrive in Tanga today evening ready for Thursday's event.
She said that the investment forum, which involves participants from four Northern Zone regions (Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Arusha and Manyara).
The event has also attracted about 450 foreign participants. She further said that the forum will be the platform for leaders and stakeholders in the four regions.
Participants will show their investment opportunities in order to attract investors for the economic development of the region and country at large.
"We already have investors who are ready to participate in the forum. So far about 450 foreigners have confirmed to take part.
This will be a big investment forum," she stated. The regional boss said that there would be a debate on development matters, exhibitions of natural resources, location of areas which have investment potential and opportunities in order to attract investors.
She called on the residents of Tanga Region to turn up in a big number so that they show readiness in investment matters. She was optimistic that the forum would shunt in many investors.
The upshot is to boost the economy of the four regions and improve standards of living.
