The Nasarawa State government was said to have been persuaded by the Eggon Council of Elders not to embark on the May 7 operation that resulted in the death of over 70 security operatives in Alakyo village, Lafia.
This was to pave way for the Eggon community to seek ways of finding political solution to the problem rather than the use of force.
