Tunisia: Marzouki Confers With Pakistani PM in New York

New York — On the sidelines of the 68th United Nations general assembly in New York, caretaker president Moncef Marzouki conferred on Tuesday with Pakistan's prime minister Nawaz Sharif about means to boost bilateral relations.

The meeting also turned on several issues including the furtherance of the transition process in Tunisia, the economic and trading relations between the two countries and the revival of the higher joint committee.

A statement of the presidency reads as well that both sides exchanged views over the Syrian and Iraqi issues and reaffirmed the need for the international community to redouble efforts to stop violence in the these two countries.
