Kenya: Ivuti and Kamacha Set for Machakos Road Race

Marathon star Patrick Ivuti will lead over 2,000 athletes in the Peter Mulei Machakos road race slotted for October 5 in Machakos town, organisers have confirmed. Ivuti, a former world cross country silver medallist and 2007 Chicago Marathon champion, will be battling for top owners alongside, Nicholas Kamacha, a medallist at the Amsterdam Marathon.

"We have also received confirmation from over 100 elite athletes," race organiser, Boniface Mutie said. The Peter Mulei road race is an annual event and proceeds from the event goes towards educating HIV/AIDS orphans.
