Egypt: Police Arrest Three Suspects in Sinai

Security bodies arrested three suspects of assaulting police and military forces and installations in North Sinai on Friday.

A Palestinian wanted for his involvement in a shooting incident was arrested, Major General Sameeh Ahmed Bashadi said.

The Palestinian opened fire on a police armored vehicle as it was stationed in front of Arish General Hospital. One conscript was injured in the shooting.

Another suspect was arrested for breaking into and torching Ber al-Abd police station and stealing arms, Bashadi stated.

A third suspected involved in an arson incident was arrested as well, he added.

In Sinai, policemen and army soldiers are attacked with bombs and grenades on an almost daily basis. Around 1000 policemen and soldiers were killed there since July.
