The Ministry of Construction intends to repair over 300 kilometers of roads in urban and suburban areas, under the Programme of Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Secondary and Tertiary Roads in the country's capital.
This was announced Friday in Luanda by the minister of Construction, Waldemar Pires Alexandré.
The minister was speaking during the presentation of the guidelines of the programme to the Angolan president José Eduardo dos Santos, stressing that the contract involves about 60 construction companies.
According to him, the activity will improve road traffic in Luanda and contribute to improve sanitation and provision of basic services.
In his view, the current condition of the road traffic in Luanda has very high rate of insecurity, despite all efforts.
Under the guidance of the head of State , the Angolan Executive approved and launched this strategic programme integrating many roads capable of carrying structuring functions, stressed the official.
