Far from any party effects, orientations, ideological and political currents, the government will announce Sunday the new Egyptian project for developing Sinai and the Suez Canal governorates and adjacent governorates this project aims at achieving a qualitative bounce in developing these governorates.
Ministers of Transport and Housing together with the Chairmen of the Suez canal Authority, Suez Canal city harbors and the industrial zone north west of the Gulf of Suez, will discuss at their meeting on Sunday the implementation of a project for developing the Suez canal northern and southern axes.
Lt. General Mohab Mamish, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority said the Cabinet has assigned the Suez Canal Authority to act at the official umbrella for carrying out the project and to be responsible for announcing the project tenders as it is a national authority which enjoys high capabilities in management and a world stature, in coordination with the Ministerial group consisting of the ministries of transport, housing, investment, planning, local government and communications.
Mamish said the general framework of the project will be offered to the cabinet in its final form for ratification as a first step towards carrying out the project far from any party trends, ideological currents or political approaches.
Mamish said in the initial stage of the project, all relevant information will be offered to world consultant houses to reach the best sketch for the project in line with the current and future capabilities of the harbors of East Port Said, Ain Sukhna, the Suez Canal and the industrial zone northwest of Suez.
Mamish He said the implementation of the project will lead to transferring the region into a world industrial zone and an international logistic center through benefiting from the status of the Suez Canal authority. He said the new development project will help develop the Egyptian National economy and provide new job opportunities for the sons of the Sinai and Neighboring governorates.
Mamish said the success of the project will be considered a success for Egypt and will demonstrate its capabilities to carry out mega projects.
The Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority said the project will not have any impact on the Egyptian national security and Egypt's supreme interests and the law regulating navigation in the Suez Canal Authority. He said the book of tenders will be offered to world companies by the end of this year.
