Yesterday, EWSA welcomed their new body Chairman Dr. Musafari Papias Malimba, who replaced Mr. Robert Bayigamba. EWSA is the body in charge of all energy and water resources in the country.
In a ceremony presided over by the Minister of State in charge of energy, Honorable Emma Francoise Insumbigabo, at the EWSA headquarters in Kigali City, the Minister praised the great work done by the outgoing body and said that new leadership does not necessarily mean a change in direction.
The outgoing chairman thanked his board for the work done and noted the challenges ahead: "Water shortages, especially during the dry season, are still a problem, but I believe the pipeline we have laid can be help to curb this problem," he said.
The new chairman promised to maintain the good name of the body and the values it carries, "Now is the right time for us to implement more of the good work done by our predecessors, as this is a crucial time for the country especially with the target of vision 2020."
