The Central Bank has licensed an association of all lenders in the country in a bid to catch serial defaulters thus reduce debt burdens to the institutions. The Kenya Credit Providers Association brings together all lending institutions in the country making it possible for all these institutions to share credit information on a regular basis. Previously, banks could only access or share credit information with credit reference bureaus.
