Safaricom alongside its chief executive Bob Collymore have been recognised for deepening Africa's capital markets at the Africa Investor 140 index series award. According to Ai, Safaricom was recognised for the value of its shares as measured by market capitalisation and liquidity.
Safaricom is currently trading at a price of Sh8.40 per share at the NSE and lists a market capitalisation of Sh328 billion. Hubert Danso, Ai vice chairman said that rewarding Africa's capital market investment is aimed at raising Africa's international investment profile. Safaricom chief executive Bob Collymore commended the employees for their positive contribution.
