Somalia: PM Sends Condolences to the Families of Lempedusa Victims

Mogadishu — His Excellency Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon sends his deepest condolences to the families and friends of those lost in the boat disaster off the coast of Lampedusa.

The Prime Minister said, "I would like to extend my sincere condolences to those who lost loved ones and friends in this tragic accident. I would also like to thank and commend the actions taken by the Italian coastguard, there is no doubt their swift response helped prevent further loss of lives."As a government we must continue to build on the achievements already made to make Somalia a secure, stable and attractive place to live; So that those young people who are fleeing their country will stay and take part in rebuilding their country."
