The Municipal Administration of Virei (south-western Namibe Province) is attending the first Fair of Municipalities and Cities, happening in Luanda, with the main objective of attracting investors to boost the exploration of minerals, mainly marble and granite.
According to the administrator of Virei, Juliana Fonseca, the region is rich in minerals, but currently it has no firm operating in the area of raw materials transformation.
The official, who was speaking to ANGOP in the ambit of her municipality's participation in the mentioned fair, which is set to end on Sunday, said the doors are open for any investors, having informed that Virei has enough construction material available.
Juliana Fonseca emphasised, on the other hand, that the Fair of Municipalities and Cities is beneficial for the country, since it creates opportunity for the exhibitors to show their potential for future businesses.
"It is a relevant event, since we are seizing the opportunity to display various potentials of the municipalities and make contact with firms that might be interested in bringing investment", she explained.
The Fair of Municipalities and Cities, happening for the first time, is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Territory Administration and the Luanda International Fair (FIL) and will take place every two years.
The event is happening simultaneously with the International Fair of Tourism in Angola, dubbed "Okavango2013".
