Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said on Friday Ethiopia is on fast economic growth as a result of better progress in the agriculture and industry sectors than that of the previous year.
In a press conference with local media, Hailemariam said even though the progress in the industry sector is encouraging, more has to be done to increase the participation of local investors in the manufacturing sector. To this effect, the Premier assured government's loan facilitation and other necessary supports to the private sector.
He also vowed that the anti-corruption struggle would continue to create competitive economy and assist the participation of developmental investors in order to sustain the nation's development.
He said Ethiopia has embarked up on mega projects including the Grand Ethiopia Renaissance Dam to realize its renaissance. Hailemariam noted that various alternatives are set to increase the nation's foreign currency earnings.
The premier said attention is given to address complaints from the public in social services particularly water, telecom and electricity sectors.
Ethiopia is working to strengthen its ties with neighboring countries in lasting peace, trade, investment and infrastructure, he said.
The Premier reiterated Ethiopia's readiness to address the dispute with Eritrea peacefully.
