Gambia: Egalitarian, Dinkendo Family Band to Stage Concerts in U.S.A

Egalitarian, Dinkendo Family Band, a Gambian Afro-Reggae singer is soon on his way to the USA. According to the popular musician, they would hold concert in Florida in the United States of America (USA) on 17th October, 2013."We signed a contract with full Sail University in Florida and the concerts will attract different artists from different parts of the world and we are trying to sign a memorandum of understanding between full Sail University in Florida and Gainako Entertainment so that Gambian artists can go there to learn about musical theory," Egalitarian told journalists on 27 September, 2013.

He said that they would also be holding charity concerts for SOS children's villages in Chicago in mid October, 2013.Egalitarian added that the theme of the concerts is 'performing unique skills in performing, presenting, coaching in traditional art form'."It will be held in three venues namely; Chicago SOS children's village, Lockport SOS children's village and Casa Tepeyac SOS children's village and the concerts are going to be cultural concerts to teach children how to play African instruments like Kora, Ballafon, Djembe and Hallam," He noted.Egalitarian noted that as a Goodwill Ambassador of SOS children's village The Gambia, he feel it vital to render his service beyond borders all over the world to contribute his quota in the future of children.The musicians gathered were all aged between 23 and 45. The brilliant Oumar Traore on Keyboard, Momodou Jallow ( lead guitar), Pa Alieu Manneh (Bass), Pape Demba Samb ( Sabar/percussion), Arame Sow (backup vocalist ), Basiru Camara( Kora), Alhagie Cham ( Backupsingers) and Alagie Bakary Saho ( Leeket/ Drummers) and many other prominent musicians.

The Dinkendo Family Band had compilations from locally released singles spanning a two year period. It was during this time that Egalitarian truly came of age, both as a songwriter and as a musician. His first recording with his band, the Dinkendo, remains one of finest Gambian releases, and launched his career. Subsequent releases- Dinkendo, Fundin keelu, Suka Debo, Vulture and Liberate Africa all followed with critical acclaim and growing popular adulation.

Egalitarian whose real christened name is Momodou Lamin Bah is the Founder of Gainako Foundation for Children Development and Chief Executive Officer at Gainako Entertainment has produced four albums namely; "Fellow Sufferers", "Indigent world", "Walk around" and "Dinkendo".He was awarded by Optimistic Production in hip-hop award a single entitled: 'Suffer down in Ya yard' won the best track in 2004 Senegal.He is a member of Artist United for Rap in Africa (AURA) formed in 2005, comprise seventeen artists from ten West African countries.AURA stands for the development of Africa and they toured Africa to spread the positive message. The tour continued in Europe, France and Switzerland.
