Afabet — The Administration of Afabet sub-zone has called on the inhabitants of Kubekub, Qamchiewa and Naro-Teb'at Administrative areas to step up efforts in food production thus backing national endeavors of ensuring food security.
Mr. Ahmed Mohammed-Nor, Administrator of the sub-zone, explained that programs implemented previously to this end have made positive impact, and urged the inhabitants to effectively utilize social service facilities.
Accordingly, a number of potable water supply, health and educational facilities have been put in place across the localities, while further efforts would be made to encourage extensive agricultural activities and restoration of erosion-hit areas in Naro-Teb'at.
The inhabitants lauded the government's commitment in improving the living standard of nationals, and asserted that they would enhance participation in the nation-building process.
Among the inhabitants, Mr. Idris Seid Hamd, Mr. Omar Saleh and Mr. Osman Maibetot called for the carrying out of more water diversion tasks, besides giving impetus to community-based s style of living.
