TRANSPORT Secretary Michael Kamau has said the government will demolish houses build on county road reserves. Kamau said the government will not "spare" anyone found encroaching on public land.
"All those who have build houses on road reserves must be ready to move out," Kamau said. Speaking yesterday in Nakuru when he paid a courtesy call to Governor Kinuthia Mbugua, the Secretary said all the houses in Pipeline estate are on public land must be demolished.
Kamau said his ministry will work closely with the Nakuru county government to ensure all public land encroached by private investors is recovered.
He said the government will not compensate anyone once the demolition begins as they had been issued with legal notices. Kamau urged Nakuru county government not to issue licenses to people who are still constructing buildings on public reserved land.
