Angola will no deserve the " version number 16 " IDA Fund ( International Development Agency ) attached to the World Bank (WB), but will benefit from special attention and accordingly with its current characteristics.
The decision follows the country's commitment to achieve the middle income status.
The information was released Friday in Washington DC, by Alternate Executive Director of 25th Constituency of World Bank Executive Board, the Angolan Ana Dias Lourenço.
The official stated that the IDA is the right arm of the World Bank for the world's poorest countries and which is updated every three year. In June 2014 it will come in version IDA -17.
According to the official, the access to these funds meets certain criteria and Angola is no longer within the standards to be IDA because it has reached middle-income status and which is entering a graduation process.
She added that judging this step, the country will only enjoy as from June 2017 its package of projects in force.
To this purpose, the official said that Angola has a five-project package in which
four are in execution process, with stress to the sectors of energy , education , health and agriculture and a fifth was approved two weeks ago by the WB board, also related to Education.
The WB Board comprises 25 members including Angola, which joined the institution early this year.
