Somalia: Somali Government Forces Clash With Al-Shabaab in Bay Region

At least ten people were killed Thursday (October 10th) in clashes between Somali government forces and al-Shabaab militants in El Dhun Adegow village in the Bay region, Somalia's Garowe Online reported.

Somali forces launched an attack on al-Shabaab positions in El Dhun Adegow, a village about 45 kilometres from Baidoa, and returned to their bases after more than two hours of fighting with the militants.

Also on Thursday, government troops pushed al-Shabaab out of Bardale in the Bay region after the militants assembled illegal checkpoints near the town, Bardale District Commissioner Mohammad Ishaq Arra-As said, according to Somalia's RBC Radio.
