Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy said that the government of Prime Minister Dr. Hazem el-Beblawi shoulders a historic responsibility despite the short time available to it, where it is responsible for the management of a political process outlining features of Egypt's future.
In statements with "Al-Ahram" newspaper, Fahmy stated that elements of the work of the Egyptian foreign ministry include three axis; protecting, supporting and showing the true image of the Egyptian revolution, restoring the Egyptian role on the regional and international level, setting the correct foundations for Egypt's foreign policy in future until 2030.
Minister Fahmy stressed that the most important principles governing Egypt's foreign action is its Arab and African belonging. He added that Egypt moves actively to maintain its interests in the Nile water with full respect to aspirations of the Nile Basin peoples in the field of development.
The Minister noted that he is planning to pay visits for a number of African countries during the coming period with a number of ministers.
