Malawi: Auxilliary Bishop Montfort Stima in Horrific Car Crash

Blantyre — Blantyre Archdiocese Auxiliary Bishop Montfort Stima on Saturday night narrowly escaped death in fatal accident that occurred around Zalewa-Shire-River on his way from Mzuzu where he went to attend the Diamond Jubilee for St Theresa Parish, Katete.

According to the Secretary to the Archbishop of Blantyre Archdiocese Rev Fr Alfred Chaima the Bishop was in a company of Rev. Fr Gervazio Namba.

"Our Lordship was coming from Mzuzu where he attended to the official ceremony and on his way he was involved in an accident at Zalewa near the Shire River. As of now l cannot divulge more information because I'm at the hospital. Once we have the details we will come back to you," said Rev.Fr Chaima.

Fr Chaima also said Fr Namba is also admitted at Blantyre Adventist Hospital.

Auxiliary Bishop Stima was appointed Apostolic Administrator for Blantyre Archdiocese in September following the transfer of Archbishop Tarcizio Ziyaye to Lilongwe Archdiocese.
