At least 280 billion kwanza is the value of the investment to be made by the Angolan Government in the execution of civil works related to the construction of the future Lauca Dam, located in the middle course of the Kwanza River in the municipality of Sao Pedro da Kilemba, Kambambe district, northern Kwanza Norte province .
The data were revealed by the project director of dam construction, engineer Elias Estevao, when presenting the work schedule as part of a visit by the vice -president, Manuel Domingos Vicente held Thursday at the works of future Lauca Dam.
The official said that the project, whose implementation started in July 2012, with completion scheduled for September 2017, registered already running services performed in the order of 19.67 percent, corresponding to 55 billion kwanza of which the Government has already made the payment of 36 billion Kz (12.88 percent).
He said that the first phase has already allowed the diversion of river flow, execution of the work of issuing environmental permits, start digging the approach channel of water intake and tunnel access to the central.
Elias Estevão assured that the work is progressing well, since they were already running 70 percent of the work related to diversion of river flow, corresponding to the first phase of the project, aiming at the start of civil works and subsequent installation of central power generation.
