About 180 billion kwanza (one dollar worth AKz 100) will be earmarked for rehabilitation, modernisation and expansion works of Kambambe dam in northern Kwanza Norte province.
The information was released Thursday to the press by the project's director, Alberto Carneiro, at the end of the visit by the vice -president of Republic, Manuel Domingos Vicente to the hydroelectric complex.
The Modernization of Kambambe Hydroeletrict infrastructure will cost 180 biliões de Kwanzas, he said.
Alberto Carneiro explained that the said amount is intended to fund the construction of energy processing system, heightening the dam waterfall, among other actions.
He added that the allocation of the money is part of the modernisation process of the dam started in 2009, aimed at increasing the production capacity from the current 180 megawatts ( MW ) to 960 MW.
