Zimbabwe: GBV Under Spotlight

GENDER-BASED violence is set to take centre stage at the fifth edition of the Protest Arts International Festival that runs from October 24 to 26. The festival, which brings together artistes from different parts of the world, will this year tackle the topic, which has proved to be a hot one in the country, according to festival director Daniel Maphosa.

"A dominant advocacy issue during the festival will be that of gender-based violence. We have partnered with various organisations like the Musasa Project that will showcase a play on the issue as well as a debate platform. This is an effort to get many people involved in order to tackle the issue on a broader scale," he said.
