Gambia: Narcotics Officer Testifies As Foday Barry's Trial Resumes

Ousman Sarr, a Narcotics officer attached to Kalagi Village in the West Coast Region on Monday testified as the third defence witness (DW3) in the ongoing criminal trial involving the state against Foday Barry, the former director of Intelligence and Investigation at the National Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDEA), at the Banjul Magistrates' Court, presided over by principal magistrate Hilary Abeke.

In his evidence-in-chief, DW3 informed the court that he knows the accused person, whom he described as the former director of Intelligence and Investigation, and that he worked under him (accused) at Holgam in Kanifing. According to DW3, he was a sergeant at the time of working with the accused person. He said he also knows one Roberts Danquah, who was the fifth prosecution witness in the ongoing trial.
