Kenya: CMA Lobbies Counties to Issue Bonds to Fund Projects

THE Capital Markets Authority wants counties to explore issuing bonds to fund development projects and repay some of their borrowings.

CMA chairman Kung'u Gatabaki said the authority has already initiated talks with most of the counties to encourage them to consider this funding option. Some of the county representatives will meet with the authority officials at the end of this month towards this initiative.
