25 October 2013

The University of Eldoret is facing an acute shortage of hostels for its more than 15,000 students. The former Chepkoilel University College was awarded a Charter to operate as a full public university early this year.

Vice chancellor Prof Teresia Akeng'a yesterday said they will work with the Uasin Gishu county government to expand its facilities. "We will work with Governor Jackson Mandago and residents to build hostels," she said. Akeng'a has invited investors to assist in building hostels.
