Kenya: Kabogo Denies Harassing Investors

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has denied claims his government is frustrating investors. He said they are not harassing investors or offering an unfavourable business environment. Speaking to the press in his office yesterday, Kabogo termed the allegations untrue. He said they are being perpetuated by people who want to gain political mileage.

Kabogo was reacting to media reports of his summon by a parliamentary committee for the alleged harassment. "All investors in Kiambu county must respect the rule of law. If an investor grabs land, then the government can't just sit back and watch when an injustice is being committed. It has to act by reclaiming the land," he said.
