KWALE International Sugar Company has once again fired its workers for allegedly reporting their plights to the media. Recently the company sent home 28 of its plant operators when they demanded increment of their daily pay.
They were later reinstated after the media highlighted the issue although increment of their pay has not been considered up to date. Two weeks later, the company has sent home three plant operators.
On Friday last week, the workers were told to surrender keys of the plants they have been operating for the last two years to the management. Sources at the Sugar Company said the three are not guilty of the accusations.
