The Safaricom Foundation was founded in August 2003 to help in communities in several areas including education, economic empowerment, relief and arts and culture.
The foundation with Joseph Ogutu as chairman and managed by Sanda Ojiambo has gone on to transform the lives of thousands Kenyans around the country. It has assisted many organisations such as Junior Achievement Kenya, the Kenya Paraplegic Organisation and Computers for Schools Kenya.
The foundation celebrated its tenth anniversary on Wednesday evening at the KICC in Nairobi. In attendance at the gala dinner were Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, Investment Secretary Esther Koimet and Kenya Red Cross CEO Abass Gullet.
