THE Zimbabwe Boxing Board of Control (ZBBC) has cancelled the WBU Bantamweight world title bout pitting Zimbabwe's Tapiwa Tembo and Zambia's Gibon Kamota after promoters -- Deltaforce Boxing Promotions -- failed to comply with the rules. The latest development further compounds the situation for the financially troubled bout that had been set for next weekend at Harare's City Sports Centre.
"The board held a meeting last night [Friday] and decided to cancel the bout because the promoter failed to give the board proof that he can host the event by October 4. He also failed to bring contracts that were signed between the boxers and the promoter," said an official from the boxing board.
