Eritrea: Health Professionals in Halibet Hospital to Sustain Initiative As Regards Blood Donation

Asmara — Health professionals in Halibet Hospital, Asmara, said that they would sustain initiative as regards blood donation. They made the pledge last Thursday in connection with a donation session at the hospital, during which they voiced moral satisfaction with engaging in such organized volunteering duty.

Among the health personnel, Dr. Solomon Tsegai, Mr. Shiden Mehari, Mr. Abeselom Bahta and Mr. Ogbai Mengisteab explained that the health profession by and far entails responsibility of life saving vis-à-vis added psychic satisfaction to this end. They further indicated that they would do their level best to promote volunteering among coworkers.

Mr. Efrem Abraham, coordinator of voluntary blood donation in the hospital, disclosed that the scheme started on the basis of an initiative by few youth workers and increased in scope after a number of others joined the team gradually. He also noted the need of nurturing volunteering on blood donation as a culture.
