Shocked by revelations that the Department of Climate Change which was carved out from the Ministry of Environment operates from a make-shift accommodation devoid of toilets and other public utility, the House Committee of Climate Change has disclosed plans to investigate the utilisation of funds donated to the department by international partners and agencies.
Speaking during an oversight visit to the Department of Climate Change situated in the first floor of the library of the Ministry of Environment in Maitama, Abuja, over the weekend, chairman of the committee, Hon Eziuche Ubani (PDP, Abia) said the probe became apparent in order to forestall a situation where the donors would visit the department and withdraw their assistance due to poor management of the funds.
