Kenya: Lupita Nominated for Gotham Awards

28 October 2013

The Hollywood flick 12 Years A Slave in which Lupita Nyongo stars in, has received the most nominations for the 23rd annual Gotham Independent Film Awards. Lupita has bagged a nomination in the Breakthrough Actor category where she will compete against Dane DeHaan in Kill Your Darlings, Kathryn Hahn in Afternoon Delight, Michael B. Jordan in Fruitvale Station and Robin Weigert in Concussion.

On her role as slave girl, Patsey, Lupita told LA Times,"Patsey didn't have the luxury of making her situation precious, so I felt I owed it to her memory to just roll up my sleeves and do the work.
