Kenya: Saccos Want Teacher Registration Devolved to Schools

Trans Nzoia West Saccos has been advised to devolve teachers' registration services to schools. District cooperatives officer John Mutenyo said this will enable more teachers to register with the Sacco. "Teachers are forced to travel to register in towns when these services can he done in schools," he said.

Mutenyo was addressing members of the Trans Nzoia Teachers Investment Cooperative Society at Kitale show ground during the annual general meeting. He directed local Saccos to adhere to the laid out procedures and regulations to ensure their members gain profits.
