Zimbabwe: Govt Agrees to Repay Cash Seized By RBZ

THE government will pay back an estimated US$400 million which was seized by the central bank from the bank accounts of private companies and individuals at the height of the country economic crisis, the finance minister has said.

Speaking at a policy forum organised by a local media group in Harare on Wednesday, treasury chief Patrick Chinamasa said the government would assume legal responsibility for the debts which had rattled the country's financial services sector.
