Bardo — The Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE) Candidacy Selection Committee started, on Wednesday morning, re-examining candidacies.
Thirty-six candidates shall be selected for a final vote in a plenary session set for Friday; Nine elected members will make up the steering committee of the electoral body.
The whole procedure was started all over again in abidance by the order of the Administrative Court to suspend the implementation of earlier decisions made by the committee on the grounds of appeals lodged to this end.
The Committee resumed its works thanks to the adjustments introduced to the law and adopted on Tuesday.
"The operation is running smoothly," member of the Committee and deputy Néjib Mrad said, adding that representatives of six categories out of nine had already been selected.
The process is expected to come to an end on Wednesday, he indicated.
