Sierra Leone: MALOA Clears Socfin

Recent revelations by some former senior members of MALOA (Malen Land Owners Association) in the Pujehun District have absolved Socfin Agricultural Company (SL) Limited from any blame in the pollution of the Malaini River. The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and some local and international NGOs, including Green Scenery, had accused Socfin of polluting the Malaini River that led to the massive death of fishes.

Two former prominent members of the advocacy group, MALOA have come out openly to confess that some of their members were clandestinely involved in the pollution of the Malaini River in order to blame it on the operations of Socfin Agricultural Company.
