Local experts say the country needs a testing technique that combines testing for P24 Antigens, which can spot the virus shortly after infection, and the traditional antibody tests, which looks out for antibodies that generally appear in the blood a few weeks after infection.
The traditional antibody tests is technically called the fourth generation enzyme-linked immunosorbent Assay (Elisa) and is the most widely used across Kenya.
