Kenya: Mbeere 'Serial' Rapist to Serve Life Sentence

A decision by a magistrate to sentence a rapist to life imprisonment has been upheld by the High Court in Embu. The man described as "notorious rapist" from Mbeere South district was being held at Embu GK Prison pending the High Court's judgement.Letto Machaki will serve the sentence at the Embu GK Prison where he had been remanded pending the court's judgement.

He had earlier been convicted by the lower court for raping a woman at his farm in Riandu Village in Mbeere South District on January 22 2011. The woman was walking home from the church.
