Nigeria: Finance Minister Did Not Grant Waiver for Bulletproof Cars - Customs

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has clarified that at no time did it say that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, granted duty waiver for the purchase of the three controversial bulletproof cars.

Debunking media reports which quoted the representative of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Manassah Jatau, as saying during the public hearing at the National Assembly on the bulletproof cars, that the finance minister granted waiver for the purchase of the armoured cars, the Service stated that Jatau was misrepresented.
