NZOIA Sugar Company MD has Saul Wasilwa has blamed low sugar prices and cane poaching for the woes afflicting the company. He said the problems has led to non payment of farmers, whose arrears have accumulated in the past three months.
"The company is facing stiff competition occasioned by infiltration of cheap sugar from the Comesa region which has subsequently flooded the local market," Wasilwa said. He added: "Local sugar price is not competitive owing to high cost of production."
