The Secretary of State for Industry, Kiala Ngone Gabriel, said Friday in Mbanza-Kongo, northern Zaire province, that the creation of the Angola Industry Census (CIANG) will facilitate the stock-taking of the industrial estate existing in the whole national territory.
Kiala Gabriel was addressing a workshop that marked the formal launch of the CIANG in Zaire province.
He added that CIANG is an important instrument in the gathering and centralised , integrated and permanently updated treatment of all relevant information on the Angolan industrial sector.
As he also said, CIANG aims to stock-take and study the industrial estate, the situation of its plants and distribution of production, seeking a real picture of all national manufacturing industry.
According to him, CIANG is also intended to identify the strong and weak points and the challenges, with a view to the implementation of effective action for an adequate support for growth, diversification and improvement of the national industry's competitiveness.
Another CIANG instrument is the so-called Angola Monthly Industrial Production Research (PPIAM), he said.
He explained that PPIAM is a programme that enables the interaction between the Executive and the business class, aiming to gather monthly information on the national production, manpower, daily work hours of the plants around the country.
CIANG is a presidential initiative coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and is part of the National Development Plan for the 2013/2017 period.
Attending the workshop are municipal administrators, provincial directors, businesspeople, Interior Ministry officers and economic agents from the six municipalities of Zaire province.
