Areza — The inhabitants of Areza sub-zone called for concerned institutions to give due attention to cultural and historical heritages that have significant importance for tourism development and that are being damaged due to man made and animals.
From the inhabitants, Mr. Kifle Micael indicated that ancient cultural heritages and caves have been found in Adi-Kemsho and Adi-Samra administrative villages and were displayed at the National Festival 2013 in Dekemhare.
Likewise, Mr. Tedros Gebrekidan said that our heritages that portray our identity and culture of the society have to be given special attention so that they are transferred to posterity. He also called for concerned institutions to give due attention to the ancient heritages and Mummies that are found around Abune Baita and Gubo.
Mr. Mogos Haile, representative of the Ministry of Tourism at Areza sub-zone, on his part stated that there are ancient monasteries and places of worship that have potential for tourism development, and called on the inhabitants to play due role in preserving them. He also called for concerned institutions to give due attention in studying and documenting them.
