Kenya: Uhuru Orders Road Repair

4 November 2013

PRESIDENT Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered the construction of the 111km road between Kajiado town and Mashuuru. The road was cut off after a colonial bridge near Mashuuru district headquarters collapsed two-and-half months ago essentially cutting off road transport between the two centres.

Uhuru said the road will be constructed with bitumen and will be an all-season facility to be used by livestock traders, residents and vegetable farmers from the southern agricultural areas of the county. He made the remarks in Mashuuru on Saturday during the homecoming of area MP Peris Tobiko.
