Tanzania: Top Conservationists Meet in Dar

Serengeti — THE temperature was hot and the streets were crowded with evening commuters - two conditions that would give anyone pause to stay out after a long day in the office.

Fortunately, for Tanzania's wildlife and ecosystems, that didn't keep an intimate group of friends and partners of the Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) from gathering for an evening of cocktails and collaboration, at Akemi Restaurant in Dar es Salaam recently ( October 24). Key planners, policymakers, donors and conservationists came together to reinforce their shared belief that Tanzania's biodiversity can be protected - and strengthened - through cooperation across private, non-profit and government sectors.
