Kenya: Bishop Imathiu Refutes North Imenti CDF Scam

FORMER Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Kenya Lawi Imathiu is embroiled in a Sh2 million CDF scandal. Imathiu, who was appointed North Imenti CDF committee chairman by former MP Silas Muriuki, is accused of misappropriating the money meant for a project.

Making the claims at a function on Friday, North Imenti MP Rahim Dawood said a partial audit shows some ghost projects were funded by Imathiu's committee. Rahim cited a dispensary, a road and a water project that were funded three times but are non-existent.
