Nigeria: Eaglets Will Not Play Under Pressure - Manu

7 November 2013

With a whopping 23 goals scored so far at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup holding in the United Arab Emirates and coming to a climax tomorrow between Golden Eaglets of Nigeria and their Mexican foes, Eaglets coach Manu Garba says the team will approach the finals with confidence. According to Manu, the Eaglets will not play under any form of pressure because they know what to do. Manu was speaking after an emphatic 3-0 win over Sweden, a team that earlier drew with his team at the group stage.

Manu also predicted the finals will be tough since the Mexicans are defending the title and have showed improvement after losing scandalously 6-1 to the Eaglets at the group stage. Manu had earlier stated he has tremendous respect for the reigning champions who have reached the finals of the U-17 World Cup seven times and defending the title they won at home two years ago. The final sets the stage between three-time champions, Nigeria and defending champions, Mexico in Abu with Mexico eyeing revenge. Mexico had sent packing pre-tournament favourites Brazil and another South American giant Argentina.
